August 22 - Arrival

- Best Western Plus Moncton. Everyone on their own for dinner.

August 23 - Practice round (shotgun start)

- and meal at Hillsbourough Golf Club

August 24 - Round 1 (shotgun start)

- and meal at Hillsbourough Golf Club

August 25 - Round 2 (shotgun start)

- and closing banquet at Hillsbourough Golf Club

August 26 - Departure

Please see the included travel notes below. Those participants only playing the Canadian Open will leave for home. Those players moving on to the Atlantic Championship will travel to Truro instead. For those that have never played the Mountain course before, we will try to help arrange a practice round.

If you are renting a car and can shuttle another player, please let us know. With shotgun starts, this should be easy to coordinate.

We will provide transportation for those without cars, to and from the airport, to and from the golf course and from Moncton to Truro for those that require it.

You will have four nights at the Best Western Plus in Moncton. The hotel offers a hot breakfast every day and a variety of other amenities.

You will receive at least one meal each day at the Hillsborough Golf Club.

Players and guides will receive a custom designed Kandy Golf shirt.

Competition Details:

We will be playing the Hillsborough Golf Club, in Hillsborough New Brunswick. There will be stroke play and Stableford divisions per IBGA competition guidelines. Men will play the White tees at 5798 yards (67.2/124) and women will play from the Red tees at 5007 yards (69.128).

Please note that the stroke play division will not use the Model Local Rule for stroke and distance.

Awards

Stroke play awards will be best gross per sight category (B1, B2 and B3), provided there are at least two competitors in the category. If there are at least two women participating in the event, best gross for women should be awarded. If not, men and women will compete for the same gross prizes. Best overall net and runner-up (all sight categories combined). If there are at least two women, men and women will play in separate net competitions (each receiving a winner and runner-up prize).

Stableford awards will include at least First, Second and Third place.

Registration deadline is April 30, 2026.

Accommodations

All accommodations are based on double occupancy, so if you need a single room, please contact the organizers to determine cost and availability.

The organizers are coordinating the hotel reservations. There are a mix of rooms with either two queen beds or one king bed. We will make every effort to meet your preferences.

Cancellation Policy:

Should anyone have to cancel beyond the due date, Blind Golf Canada will determine if the cancellation is due to medical reasons or any other unforeseen circumstance out of their control. If circumstances are deemed legitimate, BGC will return all fees paid. BGC reserves the right to withhold some or all the fees paid, should BGC incur costs based on other circumstances.

Travel for Events

Travel notes: Moncton and Truro are separated by a two-hour highway drive. For those who are only attending the Canadian Open, you should plan to fly in and out of the Moncton airport. If you are only playing in the Atlantic Canada tournament, you should fly in and out of Halifax.

If you plan to attend both tournaments and rent a car, you should fly into Moncton, but it will be your choice whether to fly out from Moncton or Halifax. Halifax will be closer, but some rental companies may charge a fee to drop off at a different location. We will arrange to get everyone else from Moncton to Truro. Those playing both events and not renting a car, should fly to Moncton and out of Halifax.
