THE CHAMPIONSHIP

The Open will take place on Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 July. A Practice Day will be available on Monday 10 July. Players & Guides should arrive at the hotel on Sunday 9 July.

Prizes for this 36 hole Strokeplay Competition will be awarded as follows:

Nett Winner and Runner-up.

Ladies Nett Winner.

Ladies gross winner, will only be awarded if there are more than two competitors.

B1 Gross Winner and Runner-up

B2 Gross Winner and Runner-up

B3 Gross Winner and Runner-up

Stableford Winner

Your Playing Handicap will be based on the WHS Handicap Index or if you do not have a WHS Handicap Index you will use your IBGA Index. You should let us know your WHS ID. The Lakes Course is a Par 72. The Course Rating for Yellow Tees is 71.2, Slope 131. The Course Rating for Red Tees is 73.6, Slope 137.

Play will be in pairs. The Rules of Golf and Modifications for Blind Golfers will apply.

A Referee will be available and their decision will be final. There will also be a Course Marshal and their direction should be followed.

THE VENUE

The Belton Woods Hotel is situated in the English Midlands county of Lincolnshire. The nearest town is Grantham 3 miles away which has an accessible railway station.

By road the hotel can be reached via Junction 21A of the M1 motorway.

The approximate distance from UK airports is as follows:

London Heathrow - 125 miles (200km)

Birmingham International - 79 miles (128km)

East Midlands - 36miles (57km)

WHAT IS ON OFFER

From Sunday 9th to Thursday morning we will provide dinner, bed and breakfast at the hotel on a twin or double room basis. If you wish to book extra nights you should deal directly with the hotel.

Golf will be provided for three days, a practice day on Monday 10th and two tournament days on Tuesday and Wednesday 11th and 12 July.

Buggies (£35 per day) and trollies are available for hire at the Pro Shop.

There is a 20 bay covered practice range. The hotel has a Spa and a second golf course.

All incidental expenses should be paid by you on departure.

NEXT STEPS

After the CLOSING DATE of 31 December for the Initial Entry we will allocate places at the Championship. We hope we will be able to accommodate all entrants but we may need to set up a waiting list.

We expect to send an Entry Form to successful applicants asking for additional details by the end of January 2023 with a closing date of approximately 4-6 weeks later. When returning your form you should pay the entry Fee of £125. Payment details will be included on the Entry Form.
